Proper maintenance and periodic watering are important factors in maximizing the performance and life of your batteries. Battery maintenance can be a costly, time-consuming, and messy job. But with Powerstride’s Battery Watering Kit, precise battery watering is made easy, saving valuable time and money.A basic kit includes all of the connectors, valves, tees, end pieces, and tubing required to assemble a kit. Basic kits are nice to keep on hand for stock or if you are unsure of the battery layout. The flexible tube routing allows the water filler system to work with various battery bank sizes and configurations. However, when ordering your partially assembled or fully assembled kit, determine the valve type, battery make and model, as well as the drawing number.A battery watering kit works by replacing the battery’s existing vent caps with valves that are interconnected with tubing, allowing the user to fill all cells of the battery from a single point remote location. Each valve has an automatic shut-off for water flow to the cell when the proper electrolyte level is reached, allowing the water levels in the batteries to be filled perfectly every time. It is typically recommended that distilled water be used throughout this process.
Battery Life
A properly watered battery lasts longer and performs better. Filling to the correct level is critical as overfilling a battery results in loss of acid, while charging with low electrolyte levels will result in permanent damage to the lead plates. Both will result in loss of capacity and life expectancy.
